Informative. Compact. Digital. RESEARCH TO BUSINESS with new digital offers
While in 2019 we were still celebrating the 10th anniversary of the technology platform, in 2020 we are offering a new generation of services for technology enthusiasts and anyone looking for innovative technical solutions. The technology platform has been technically revised and now offers even more convenience and information. The digital offers for our users have been extended by a technology alert, the transfer blog and an enhanced bilingual newsletter.
A marketplace of innovations
For almost 10 years, Innovation and Relations Management (IRM) of KIT has been operating the technology platform with technology offers for industry. The platform presents KIT inventions and know-how for which KIT is looking for cooperation partners and licensees. "The platform is a marketplace for innovations and a door opener between science and industry," says Dr. Jens Fahrenberg, head of the IRM service unit. "This is how research results from KIT can make it to the point of application." In addition to the wide-ranging technology offers, interested companies will now find new functionalities and an even broader range of information on activities and cooperation examples in technology transfer after the relaunch.
Screening and collecting
Currently, almost 160 technology offers are listed for which the KIT is looking specifically for development partners. Users can use the upgraded search function to filter out suitable technologies from this data pool. The search filter offers the possibility to browse technologies on the basis of fixed categories and sectors, but also to select them even more specifically by means of an intelligent keyword search. The respective technology exposés with information on intellectual property rights and contact persons can be conveniently combined into a booklet and downloaded using a watch list.
Technology ticker delivered free to the door
In order to make systematic technology screening even more convenient and easy for our users, RESEARCH TO BUSINESS now offers the free Technology Alert: an automated e-mail notification about newly published technology offers of the preferred sectors. Without additional search effort, alert users receive the latest technologies from KIT directly into their e-mail inbox as soon as they are published. In a personal user profile with login, alert users can adjust their industry selection and additional options at any time.
Community character in the Blog
An important element of the relaunch is also the integrated blog, in which we provide a permanent and collected pool of interesting topics from knowledge and technology transfer. The new blog format offers insights into projects, protagonists, and the daily work of technology exploitation and commercialization at KIT. In addition, the blog provides additional possibilities for tag-based browsing and for entering into a digital dialog with the technology transfer team at KIT.
Classical, but newly thought
With the relaunch, the established newsletter RESEARCH TO BUSNIESS, which informs about technology offers and development projects from KIT since 2003, was also comprehensively digitalized. From now on, it will be distributed exclusively by e-mail in two language versions, German and English, to people interested in innovation. Fixed elements of the regular newsletter are the latest technology offers supplemented by events, projects, and news on technology transfer at KIT.
Apart from technical optimizations, the relaunch focused, among other things, on a user-friendly, unerring search for technology offers, the variety of information offered, and a high quality of contents. Karola Janz, Head of Editorial Office for RESEARCH TO BUSINESS, explains "With the relaunch, we have taken an important step for 2020. In addition to a compact and professional appearance, it was important to us that users benefit from a comprehensive information content about licensable technologies, successful example projects and work in technology transfer". RESEARCH TO BUSINESS presents a wide-ranging spectrum of KIT research topics that could lead to innovative products in cooperation with industrial partners. These promising development results can be a source of new products and innovations for companies, from large enterprises to small and medium-sized businesses.
