Innovation and Relations Management (IRM) at KIT is responsible for identifying and securing potential innovations together with science and for supporting their economic exploitation. At the intersection of science and industry, KIT innovation managers are committed to boosting technology transfer at KIT.

In their role, they are dialog partners for the scientific employees of KIT when it comes to the commercialization of technologies and inventions. They offer scientific employees of KIT strategic and operative support to find one or more partners from industry - with the aim to bring the valuable research results into industrial application. Once a suitable development partner has been found, the four innovation managers accompany the project initiation and advise on possible funding programs and financing instruments, such as the NEULAND Innovation Fund of KIT. In ongoing co-operations, the innovation managers provide support as moderators and project managers.

For interested company representatives, the team is available as contact person for the first orientation at KIT. The thematically oriented innovation managers help with individual questions on technology transfer and show you the possible forms of cooperation with KIT. In order to identify relevant connecting points, the innovation managers conduct, for example, a targeted search in the portfolio of KIT's technology offers. In this way, you can be provided with specifically searched information on suitable technologies as well as contacts to inventors and scientific employees of KIT in a personal exchange. If the cooperation initiation is positive and you aim at a cooperation with KIT, the further steps depend on the individual situation and type of cooperation. The innovation managers accompany the entire process: from matching to the formalities to the cooperation agreement as well as the project work with milestones to the project closure.

Since April 2021, the innovation management team was strengthened. We would like to introduce the complete team to you.
