The KIT Business Club currently has 29 members. For example, technology companies from the IT, chemical, medical and electronics industries or from mechanical/plant engineering are represented. As a new member in the field of industrial plants, Physik Instrumente (PI) GmbH & Co. KG (PI Group) has been part of the transfer-oriented network at KIT since April 1, 2023. The company, based in Karlsruhe, Germany, offers precision positioning technology and drive solutions, such as piezo positioning systems, piezo technology and piezo systems for nanopositioning in various application areas.

"Innovation is part of PI's DNA and the stronger networking with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology creates additional links to science to push the boundaries of today's technologies together," says Dr. Markus Czanta, Chief Technology Officer of the PI Group. The KIT Business Club team is pleased to welcome a new member. Dr. Markus Bauer, Head of the Business Network, says: "We warmly welcome the PI Group and look forward to expanding existing contacts strategically and in the long term to add new issues, points of contact, and joint projects with a wide variety of KIT institutes."

Today, close cooperation between industry and research is more important than ever. With the Business Club, KIT has already been offering a unique opportunity for companies to facilitate access to the latest developments and exciting technologies of KIT since 2009. The key factor is the personal contact person at KIT, who supports each member company individually in the development of potentials and all questions concerning KIT in an optimal way. The PI Group will kick off with the upcoming onboarding session, which will determine the first topics and focal points of the intensive dialog between PI and KIT.
